The Hydrovane repair

We have the Hydrovane back fully repaired all thanks to Alberto Legos, Port Officer for the OCC on the left and Lolo of EMeGa the metal work yard that did the work - a completely new and reinforced weld of the shaft extension, removing and replacing the corroded bolts that clamp the heavy brackets to the down tube and repairing one of the brackets that was cracked. 

There are two reinforcing plates there. The hinge mechanism - which was just a nuisance has been dispensed with.

It all looks good work and at a very reasonable price. Now we have to re-attach it to the back of the boat. We will have to move to a temporary berth that we can back into to do that and the very helpful President of Lecio Maritimo de Bouzas (the local Yacht Club/Marina) where we are berthed, has arranged one for us. We hope to get it done this afternoon!
